August 19, 2018. While traveling to North Lake Tahoe on a family vacation, we stopped overnight in Bridgeport, CA, to savor the journey. At sunset, we built a crackling fire in the campground’s communal area. And then, things were said that led to a name.

A good fire is about the people gathered around it. The stories shared, the sense of kinship and community, a warm glow, and that inevitable declaration…

“That’s a good fire.”
